Level One Tumbling

Get a solid grounding in the basics of gymnastics. From forward rolls & handstands to round offs and back flips, we’ll teach you to invert, flip and fly in a safe and friendly environment.

What to Expect

If you’ve got previous experience in gymnastics but would like to refresh your skills, or if you’ve never tried gymnastics before but have a good base level of fitness and flexibility then these classes will teach you everything you need to know to get started in gymnastics. Each week you’ll work towards developing excellence in three key featured skills. If injury or lack of flexibility inhibit your ability to perform particular movements - appropriate regressions will be provided to allow you to develop at your own pace. Likewise, if you are already able to perform a skill to a good level - more difficult variations will be presented to ensure you remain challenged and stimulated.

Level One Skills

Forward and backward rolls - straight jumps, tuck jumps, straddle jumps and hurdle steps - headstands, handstands and handstand forward rolls - cartwheels and round offs - backward roll to handstands - splits & bridges - headsprings & handsprings - bridge kickouts and forward & backward walkovers - backflips and creative sequences.
